| Drawing further inspiration from the call of the Deacon to be a minister of service to the poor (whether their poverty be material, social, spiritual or some other form) he felt a call to use his music to be of service, not only in an inspirational sense, but in a concrete way as well, raising much-needed funds for various ministries and charities. |
| Since embarking on this call to bring his music ministry outside the walls of his parish, Deacon Chuck has independently recorded and released two CD's of original music (In Your Presence in 2004, Bethlehem Morn in 2005) and participated in two compilation CDs of contemporary music, (In His Hands-Worldwide Worship Vol I, and Catholic Christmas ) involving Christian artists from around the world. His music has been featured in Canada on the 'A' Channel's TV program 'Life and Faith', received airplay on EWTN's Catholic Jukebox, Michigan Catholic Radio, Holy Family Radio on Live365, and a number of other Christian radio and internet stations in North America and Europe. His songs 'Day of the Lord' and 'See Christ in All Things' have been voted among the top ten Advent and Lenten songs , respectively, by TopCatholicSongs.com. More importantly, people have drawn inspiration from his music, using it in their own churches for worship, or retreats to draw others into deeper contemplation. His attitude toward his music relies heavily on the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 10, verse 8, 'Freely you have received -freely give.' and various church groups who have sought to use his music in worship have been granted permission in exchange for their embarking on some charitable work within their own communities. Deacon Chuck continues to write music and reflections while involved in ministry at St. Philip's parish, Petrolia, Ontario, and shares his love of God and music with his wife Kathi and their five children. |

| Deacon Chuck Stevens has been involved in parish-level music ministry at a number of Roman Catholic parishes in various parts of Canada since the mid-1970's. During his studies toward becoming a deacon for the Roman Catholic Diocese of London, Ontario (Canada) , his music ministry continued to evolve. Following a year-end retreat in 2004, he began combining his prayer and reading of Sacred Scripture with music composition, finding an expression of prayer that he felt compelled to share with people as a means of helping them contemplate and draw closer to God. Chuck was ordained a permanent deacon, along with ten classmates, on November 3rd,2007 , the feast of St. Martin de Porres. |
