The latest offering from Deacon Chuck Stevens
Full release May 13,2009 - The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima
This latest collection of songs from Deacon Chuck Stevens spans a period of three years, from times of personal struggle, prayerful discernment, the joy of preparation for and reception of Holy Orders in the Permanent Diaconate, and contemplation of the challenges of the Gospel to all of us, the mystery and wonder of the Incarnation, and the generosity and goodness of God.
Ten tracks comprise this project of original music.  Included are the title track '
Harvest of Love' which was released via WWOW Radio in the fall of 2008, and was loaded as a lo-fi download on this site on the occasion of Deacon Chuck's ordination in 2007 as a 'gift to everyone'.

The rest of the project spans a broad variety of styles and messages:
   '
We Come to Return' (a consideration of the gifts of the Sacraments),
   '
Elohim'   (a love song at the wonder and mystery of God),
   '
I Have Heard' (reflecting on how God speaks to us through the small and the innocent)
   '
Jesus Prayer' (Deacon Chuck's adaptation of the classic prayer from the fifth century - a ten minute meditative offering available as a lo-fi download on this site)
   '
Who Do You Say That I Am'  (a question posed not just to the disciples, but to each and every believer)
   '
Oh Dear Father/Hail Mary'  (DC's adaptation of the Lord's prayer followed with the prayer invoking our Blessed Mother's intercesson)
   '
Could You Give Me some Water'  (the challenge of the Gospel of Matthew - the sheep and the goats - in a world crying out for social justice)
   '
How we adore You'  (an upbeat song of praise of the Holy Trinity)
   '
Blessing'  (a prayer asking God's blessing on those who listen)

Why the term 'full release' ?
As noted above, a couple of the songs have been previously made available for lo-fidelity download on this website.  Another (I
Have Heard) was released for a limited period on WWOW Radio in Ohio  in 2008.
That to me, means a 'partial' release.
So....the remainder of the songs are being made available in a collection on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13,2009...

Why make them freely available even in partial form?
while there will be come commercial availability via the net and digital downloads, my desire is to make this available to anyone and everyone for their prayerful consideration, and in gratititude for the incredible generosity God has shown in the many blessings I have received in my life.
It is my desire, after much prayer and discernment, to give this music out in hopes that the Lord will use it as a vehicle to draw others to  Himself.

Then why make it even partly commercially available?
The funny thing about some people, is they won't accept a free gift - they'd rather pay for it themselves by buying a CD commercially, or downloading from a digital store...so I believe I should just give them the option.(of course, the free downloads may be available sooner than the 'pay for it' variety)  As long as Jesus reaches them, that's what matters,
and if He chooses to use my small talents to do that, then all I can do is offer my thanks to Him for His generosity in allowing me to do something for Him and for others.  If you really want to buy the CD, here it is at
CDBaby.
